Indian States by GDP
Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), also known as State Income, is crucial for assessing the economic growth of individual states or union territories. It represents the total value added by industries within each region, analogous to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Among Indian states and union territories, Maharashtra leads with a GSDP of 38.80 lakh crore, followed by Tamil Nadu with 28.30 lakh crore, and Karnataka at 25 lakh crore, ranking third. Gujarat holds the fourth position, with Uttar Pradesh rounding out the top five. Together, these top five states contribute approximately 50% to India’s overall economy.
